Any life worth living

Isn’t life just filled with ease

—Toaster

My brain has been gravitating towards The Brave Little Toaster lately, and I credit this to the fact that I found some amazing finds this past weekend at Goodwill. I think I’ll be writing about them in a bit… particularly about a rabbit with a quilted dress and bow, with her own toy baby rabbit in tow. It’s a special joy to bring new life to an object that, for whatever reason, had lost its place.

But today is about Toaster… It is a perfectly melancholic movie. As I rewatch it today I find myself taken with the expressiveness of Kirby, who taught us all the meaning of tsundere before we had the internet - Kirby has always been my favorite:

The animators did a fantastic job in every scene conveying the characters’ emotions through their expressions and I never tire of rewatching this movie and focusing in on a different character.
